Rules and Regulations Bass o Mania Rustfontein Bronkhorstspruit

All visits are strictly by prior appointment and booking via Bass o Mania Website. New  anglers and visitors who would like to see what is on offer, must please e- mail or phone  to arrange a visit.  No one will be  allowed to enter the Fishing area without prior arrangement or a confirmed booking.    

Angling Etiquette, Baits  and Terminal Tackle:

*Specimen techniques and practices are to be used by all anglers when Carp fishing.

*No conventional angling methods and such traces are allowed.  

*A maximum of 3 rods per angler per swim, maximum 2 anglers per swim.

*All rods must be placed in proper bank sticks or pods. 

*Fish Alarms on all rods, no exceptions. 

*No unattended rods may be fished at any swim.

*Bait runner or Coffee grinder reels with a good  front drag system and a main line of 15lbs or    higher.

*Soft Landing nets 42 inch Knotless nets to be used to land Fish.

*Only safety rigs may be used, no fixed line sinkers.

*Any snagged line must be retrieved,using a boat.

*Soft braid or coated  hook links. 

*Lead core may not be be used.  

*Liquid Wire may be used. 

 *Anti Tangle Tubing above hook links to be 50-60cm long.

*Braid for mainlines are recommended as there are many Crabs in the Dam.

*No Keep nets allowed. Carp sacks may be used at night or during rainstorms as aid prior to          photographing. Release ASAP.

*Carp sacks it must be placed in water of at least 500mm to 1m deep.The use of Carp  sacks  must be a last resort and a fish caught must be released as soon as possible. 

*All fishing is Catch & Release, no matter what size or species of fish is caught. 

* When both swims 4 (Clubhouse) and swim 5 are occupied anglers must use the "Green pole" in  the  dam as borderline to prevent crossover of lines and other problems that might arise. 
 
*Unhooking Mats are compulsory (120cm x 60-80cm x 5-10cm thick),they must be kept clean and   must be wet using dam water, when handling fish caught wet your hands and try and do minimal   damage in removing hooks. The use of Carp clinic is recommended should the angler deem it         necessary. 

*Fish to be carried and released via an unhooking mat or weigh-sling and released as soon as  possible after weighing and photographing.

*Only well prepared ground baits are allowed. No Peanuts are permitted as bait or ground bait.

*Note: We may implement a particle bait restrictions from time to time, - this will be  announced  and published in this section when applicable.

*No lip gripper to be used directly on Carp lips to handle or weigh fish. 
*Carp, Catfish & Bass fishing only, no live bait allowed.  

*The use of generators is not allowed.

*Only Headlamps at night when landing a fish.

*Management reserves the right to search vehicles and inspect tackle and baits intended for use  or baits already in use. 

*You will not be allowed to fish unless requirements are met and will be turned away without  refund.

*Fixed Braai facilities available at the Club house. 

*During August no open Fires are allowed at Carp fishing swims 1,2,3,5,6 and 7. 

*Gas braais will be allowed  and are recommended. 

*No littering of any kind .Use ablution facilities should nature call. No "BUSSINESS" in nature will  be allowed and will be regarded as barbaric.  Any one guilty of such  an act will be expelled    forever.    

* We regard cigarette ends as litter and don't want it in or on the ground or in the water! Black  plastic bags should be used to bag your litter, please take you litter home. We might inspect  your  swim during and after fishing, before departure keep your swim tidy at all  times.  No litter  of any kind may be left behind. Please ensure that all odds and ends, cigarette  ends  and  or bottle tops are picked up before your departure from your swim after your fishing  trip.Our  booking system will be used to determine responsibility should a swim be found to be  unacceptable on arrival of any new visitor or management on normal inspections.     

*No Accommodation is currently available, camping is however allowed. Only a Long drop toilet  currently available at Carp swims 1-3. Ablution facilities that serves swims 4,5,6,7 are available  on the eastern side the close to picnic-area.  Porta potties my be used but must be emptied in  our septic tank behind the main ablution,please close the lid of the tank once you are done.  Don't throw any foreign objects like cigarette ends in our septic system.  

*No Loud music or unnecessary shouting is allowed. Visitors or their guests, who transgress  Rules, will be expelled. Unacceptable behaviour and / or acts such as no adherence to above  rules, anti-social behaviour, unsportsmanlike conduct, alcohol and other substance abuse, etc  may result in a termination of the visit, without refund of fees, or even prosecution.

*Any complaint, suggestions or objections by members (visitors) must be lodged in writing to  Management. Serious, urgent matters must be reported in person as soon as possible to Danie  at 0825518088. Such matters will be dealt with as soon as possible and resolved.

*Note the use of the venue and facility is at the visitors own risk! By doing your booking online  you agree to the terms and rules. You also indemnify Bass o Mania and the Land owner of any  claims whatsoever while on or off the the premises.
